Description

Protect your Windows 10 login by simply plugging in your YubiKey. YubiKey for Windows Hello is a simple app that works with Windows desktop to enhance your authentication experience. Register one or more YubiKeys for unlocking your laptop or computer. Once registered, unlocking is as simple as inserting your YubiKey. YubiKeys are tiny, nearly indestructible hardware security keys that hang on your keychain or fit inside your USB port to prevent unauthorized access to your account.

YubiKeys work with Microsoft Windows to unlock your system but they can also protect your other accounts such as Google, Dropbox, Dashlane, and many more!

Works as advertised. Does not provide 2FA. by Andrey

As a Windows Hello feature, it unlocks your computer when you put in your Yubikey. It does not however provide for multifactor authentication. It would be nice to see the option for a Yubikey + Password/Pin. Would be really interesting to see if we can combine Yubikey + facial recognition (for supported cameras). I gave it 3 stars to allow for room to improve. If all you want is to have your Yubikey unlock your computer, then consider it a 5 star. This uses CCID protocol, and as a result, only the Yubikey 4 and Yubikey Neo are supported. Older Yubikey do not have CCID support.

    Excellent! by Jacob

Works perfectly with Windows. Here's how the login process changes when you enable Windows Hello and set up this app (with the YubiKey unplugged at the login screen): instead of immediately displaying the password box when you enter the login screen, it instead displays a button labeled "Sign-In options". When clicked, this turns into three login options - companion device (does nothing when clicked), password (opens up the password prompt), and PIN (opens up a prompt for the PIN you set when configuring Windows Hello). You can still log in via your old password or the PIN you set. However with the YubiKey, all it takes it inserting it into a USB port - and your screen is unlocked instantly, no further user input needed! If your screen is locked while the YubiKey is still inserted, when you go to the login screen, your computer will immediately unlock itself without any further actions on your part (do NOT need to click the button).

Doesn't Work With Creators Update by Todd

I was able to install and pair my YubiKey, but it doesn't unlock my PC when using The Creators Update (Version 1703, Build 15063).

It works, but I was expecting more. by Josh

I use a nano and if you happen to leave in the key then it will always authenticate you. I was hoping for some actual 2FA. In order for me to be able to use this thing I want to have to press the yubikey button to authenticate.

    Didn't work by Reetik

Set up was easy and simple but when I logged out to test it, nothing happened. It shows a third option next to pin code and password. When I click on it, nothing else shows up and I keep touching the pad on my Yubikey Neo but nothing happens. I even double checked that I have CCID enabled in the Yubikey Neo manager.
