Ghostery

Significantly increased browsing speed.

This extension reminds me of NoScript, but has a much more user-friendly option system and built-in filter lists. For those having problems, make sure you click "manage" and then "options" to set what you want to block. If you block everything, then pages will be unable to load properly. This makes browsing sooo much faster and more secure! Like others, I've noticed incompatibility with both Adblock and Adblock Plus and I hope that this is resolved as these extensions are more fleshed out.

I'm not a huge fan of ad blockers because, in the end, pretty much every site relies on ads to survive. I do, however, like being able to stop trackers knowing my entire browsing history. This extension does what I want without depriving the web sites I like of revenue. It's good enough that I would (gasp) pay for it!

The current Edge version behaves strangely compared to the Firefox and Chome versions I've been using. In Edge, when I open pages in new tab, they either close immediately or Edge tries to download the html. Disabling Ghostery fixes the problem. Again, this has never happened with Ghostery in other browsers -- I;ve synced my Ghostery settings so this behavior isn't expected.
