A better Gears, at a higher cost. by A Raid Boss

If you hated the "Call of Duty" direction that Judgment tried to go, then Gears 4 gameplay-wise is a miracle. The Coalition understands that Gears 3 was the perfect formula, and has created a new game in it's style for the xbox one. The campaign is solid, about 7 and a half hours long, with a good amount of fanservice. Multiplayer has 8 modes, 2 of them being brand new, and all of them play well. Horde is thankfully back, with rpg style classes you can level up. Unfortunately, Gears 4 has such a lack of enemy variety that horde gets repetitive surprisingly fast. Despite being enjoyable, Gears 4 is hurt by it's steep, cutthroat microtransactions. The currency earned per match is so small you have to choose between leveling up at a reasonable rate and unlocking characters, and you're meant to use money to cover the other. ALL characters are purple rarity, that way you're likely to get cheap weapon skins. You'll get 60$ out of Gears 4, but keep a close hand on your wallet. It's hungry.

    Gears on Pc by Tony

I played Gears 4 on Xbox one and I loved it from the campaign to the multiplayer to horde but once my 103Gb install was complete for the windows store(I had lots of errors occurring causing complete re installs) I fell in love with Gears again the game just looks superb on the pc on ultra detail loads are quicker, barely any pop ins, very detail graphic settings, awesome and detailed benchmark. I have a i5 6600k and Zotac 1070 amp extreme and I'm getting a little over 100fps on a 3440x1440p res and yes it does support 21x9. Field of view is there as well, I haven't messed with key bindings yet but will do(sprint is the spacebar). The community is there and lively(US west) as well I'm able to join matches quick just like if I was playing on my Xbox one and cross ranked is in. Good Job Coalition this is one of the best ports I've encountered and definitely one of the most beautiful games I have ever seen to date.

well worth the wait......thanks coalition by GoThIcM3rCy

gears 4 is a sumpremely polished game....firstly it really shows what the unreal engine can do with progressive and proactive weather. real time colour glowing reflecting similar to the snowdrop engine....and an amazing amount of explosions and partical effects onscreen whilst keeping that rock solid framerate. the combat is familiar. some say they played it safe. i say if it aint broke....dont fix it......i loved the campaign. ok a little short but still a blast to play through numerous times.....and split screen and coop adds to it....mp is still right up there with the best......very polished.....very awesome.....very gears.....welcome back

Can you say Money Grab? by Like 157 Ninjas

Great game all around besides this one glaring problem they grabbing for my wallet at all times. I paid for the season pass got a few skins none worth $50 btw. Thats cool until the first 3 DLC are asking for more money and 2 of them are not promised to give me a specific item. Then on top of that you domt need to pay for future maps to play them on public so my season pass is worth nothing. I hate opening this game and everytime there is something new it's something I have to pay for. Way to stay loyal to fans. (Yes i own and played every one)

Worst post-launch support ever by HankTheYank27

6 months in and all they ever do is release more microtransactions. This game has the worst microtransaction RNG based unlock system I have ever seen. It's a scam. Everything is unlocked through packs and in game currency takes a long time to earn. The packs can be expensive and have a low chance of rare items and lots of repeats. This game is EXTREMELY ANTI-CONSUMER. Worse than most other games with similar systems. AND THE WORST PART OF IT, IS THAT THE GAME IS STILL PLAGUED WITH GAME BREAKING GLITCHES!!! 6 MONTHS IN! Shotgun damage and range is so inconsistent it's a dice roll. 100% damge sponging. Terrible netcode. Bad region support. Shooting delays. Wall canceling (look it up). And to top it off, one of the most hostile and immature communities in gaming. That plus the bad ranking system makes this game very unfriendly to new players. It's not even competative due to the previously mentioned glitches and exploits. WHERE IS ALL THE MICROTRANSACTION $$$ GOING!?!

Great game, bad cash & grab. *Update* by FEARtheNOISE300

It's a cool game but the whole "give us more money" is unfair. I own the UE, you don't get anything back. Besides terrible maps that cost you 5 bucks each with no other items in return. In Gears of War 3 - You get a map, you get characters too. IN GEARS OF WAR 3 you unlock characters and skins. In gears of war 4, you have to spend money to get good stuff. Owning the season pass does not give you free items. YOU only get free terrible maps, nothing more, nothing less. I only play for horde mode. I hate pvp. The campaign is alright. Not a terrible game, it's just the Microtransactions is bull . You spend money to get y skins instead of getting characters for 10$. Such a huge rip off! <- old review. New review -> It seems they might actually care about the feedback. Then again, they still seem to mess up and make everyone suffer because of it. I only recommend to buy for the campaign and horde mode with friends. Thank you for ruining my time with the UE bull. BYE...
