Microsoft Can Shove it. by Scott

It's complete and utter garbage that we have to pay for a DVD player when literally EVERY laptop I have ever owned would let me play DVDs through Windows Media Player. Corporate greed at it's finest. Making the common man furious just so we have to spend that extra $14.99.

Why do I have to pay again to watch a movie?? by Hilary

This is not a review of the app. This is a review of Microsoft. Why are the computers with dvd drives more expensive? Did I not pay for the ability to play dvds? Now I have to pay again, go through all these hoops just to watch a movie that I already bought. All the dvd apps in the app store cost more than most dvds anyway, and then I have to sign in with an account, put in my credit card info... Gone are the days when you could just pop a dvd into the disc drive and watch the movie. I just can't believe how un-user-friendly this is. Playing dvds from your already over-priced computer should be free AND easy. This seems like common sense to me. Update: This is worse than I thought it would be. It only worked for one movie. It now cheerily asks, "insert a DVD to play something." I just bought this DVD brand new. There should be no issues. I would love a refund and I'll use it to go buy a $10 DVD player on Craigslist.

    Microsoft Corporate Greed by Everett

Windows Media Player for years has played DVD's and now with Windows 10 Microsoft removed it from Windows Media Player and charges $14 for this feature, which should be standard, this is BS... Should be free or at worst $1 or with adds and with option to upgrade to premium to remove adds. This just shows how greedy Microsoft has become just like Apple.... great job.... (One Start because it works)

DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!! by cody

dispite the throngs of 1 star reviews that said the app doesn't work I went ahead and gave up my $15 so I could watch deadpool in my hotel room. well, guess what it still doesn't work. remember when we used to buy a computer and if it had a dvd player it played dvds. why should we have to pay $15 for software to do something that weve already purchased the hardware for. shouldn't the hardware cover the cost of the software. I hope the designers of this software live long and happy lives because there is a special place in hell for them to spend the rest of eternity.

windows dvd player not working by Helen

I think that it's sad that one has to download a dvd app or purchase an external player that should have been standard even if the price was the 14.99 more. I've purchased the app and it still doesn't work and no refund???

Waste of time and money by Terry

Does not work with Windows 10 new computer. Played the opening music then the screen went black and that was it. Microsoft is seriously making me want to try Mac. DVD player not included with new computers now and then when you pay for it it says there's an error but no code for the error.

    Seriously? by Justin

Dear Microsoft, FU.. The app itself works just fine, but I don't appreciate Microsoft ripping off its customers for something that's so basic and is a standard for all computers. Way to try and make a profit by being "different." Wrong, you're being a pain. Signed, A customer...
