Original Xbox Game Reborn - Free?! WOW! by CleverSpace498

This could be Microsoft testing the waters. If fans get rabid about Phantom Dust and play the heck out of it, there is the possibility that they will green light the sequel. Let's hope Microsoft thinks the player numbers are good enough to commit to new games in the series and give us some good news about it's future at E3. I never played PHANTON DUST on release. I bought it in 2009 for $1.99 when Gamestop was clearancing out Xbox, and I actually didn't play it until 2013, mainly because I was turned off the card collecting aspect. I have played games like KARTIA, EYE OF JUDGEMENT, and just about every other trading card game, and rarely liked them. Phantom Dust does the card strategy thing far better than most and has an addictive quality the others don't have, as well as an interesting story and characters. There is a cult following that is very vocal about their love of this game, I am not one of them, but I understand their passion. This game gets an easy 8/10 from me.

One of the best xbox games but... by FINESQUEEKERS

Phantom dust is absolutely one of the best xbox game you could try though there are a couple things to take note of. This is an xbox original title so the graphics look dated also the controls feels a bit stiff at times and with a learning curve that's not the best it will turn some people off. With all this I would still recomend this to anyone who is looking for something more unique coupled with a soundtrack that combines classic and electronic musical styles, a deck bulding combat style of gameplay unlike anything even when compared to other games today, and with a story that is just as deep and interesting this is a game that you shouldn't pass up.

    oldie but goodie by Unknown

This game has some solid elements that would make a great modern game. A mix of an RPG, tactics, and action. Remember this is an Xbox classic and people keep trying to compare it to current or even last gen, it doesn't work like that. Most current gamers don't have a connection to such a time and that explains the dull reviews or ratings. It has a bit of an anime\cyberpunk style on design and story, but gameplay is solid. It is still entertaining and still able to set itself apart from most games. Got to appreciate one of the first games with arena destruction too. Overall, it's different, fun, solid, and free... don't hate kids.

A 2004 Original That Still Holds Up Today! by Seth

There is no game that is like Phantom Dust, it is unique, stylish, mechanically interesting, and has a campaign that effectively gets new players familiar enough with powers and rules to be multiplayer ready. This also has a thoughtful story with one of the best soundtracks in gaming(love the bar music) which includes a mix of classical songs altered by industrial stylings. This game also just reeks of style in its familiar but dream like world. Mechanically Phantom Dust plays like most action games you might have played, you lock on and attack. However, there are over 300 abilities and all of them have different stats some are long range some are short; some abilities have a straight line tregetory while others will go in a parabola, others crawl along the ground. Now in order to control the vast ammount of powers at disposal the game has you access the the powers like a card game; build an arsenal(deck) which has limits on how many abilities can be brought. I've reached character lim

An excellent MP game by Unknown

While this remaster does have some minor flaws such as the lobby chat no longer working automatically, this is still an excellent and unique game. The main thing to understand is that the game really shines in multiplayer, not the campaign. The campaign is essentially a dated tutorial. It does teach you how skills work, and has an interesting storyline. But the computer doesn't teach you how real players move. What will draw you into this game is the arsenal building and online play. Give online play a fair chance and I doubt you'll be disappointed.
