Description

View animated GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) files like movies. It offers functions such as play/pause, resizing, single step forward or backward (Pro version). This app can be set as the default program for GIF files so it can be launched from Windows File Browser.

Please note: this app is a viewer, not an editor. It displays GIFs strictly according to the information (e.g. delay for each frame) of GIF files. Some old GIF files may have incorrect timing information to accommodate older browsers, so GIF Viewer may not display them in the way as originally expected.

Awesome, now I can enjoy my GIF files. by Carrie
For some reason Windows photo gallery would not play GIF files anymore, like the older versions would. So I found this free awesome app and it is a live saver, I love it.

NOT A CONVENIENT GIF VIEWER by Katey
The next and back buttons do not seem to be working. Also, they should be visible all the time not just when clicking on pause. I find the folder pane clutters the screen. Just need a simple little app that will open an animated gif for a quick view with next and back buttons visible. It is great that someone is working on a gif viewer for windows. However, there are free programs out there that do the job much better for example: gifview.exe.(while browsing) and XnView while being used as the file browser. Also, I used to love the way Win XP would view animated gifs (animating) in the preview pane to the right just like any other image while browsing. How about it MS.....can you bring that feature back? Thanks for your efforts !!! Kathy

Easy to use. It would be nicer if it helped you string a bunch of GIFs together to display in sequence.
